Section 11: The Judges' Table - Final Summary & Candidate Scorecard

Executive Summary: This closing section converts the entire module into an evaluation instrument. We replay the interview arc and name the signal each phase was actually recording, then present the full 100-point scorecard — five dimensions, weighted to reflect how heavily judgment outweighs machinery — with concrete descriptions of what top-scoring and point-losing performances sound like. Score bands map to readiness levels with targeted remediation, and a final catalog shows where this deceptively simple question hides inside real interview loops at every major company.

Here is the uncomfortable truth about the hour you just spent: the architecture diagram — the artifact that felt like the deliverable — was worth roughly a quarter of the available points. The interviewer across the table was scoring something else the entire time: how you interrogated an ambiguous sentence, whether your arithmetic actually governed your choices, how your composure held when the escalations started landing, whether your simplicity was judgment or timidity. Interviews at this level are scored on form, and you cannot consistently earn points you cannot name. This section names them.

The Arc, Replayed as Signal

Each phase of the interview paired with the signal it was actually recording

Key Insight: Read the right-hand column top to bottom and notice that not one signal is about knowing more technology. Every signal concerns deploying well-known technology in proportion to a measured problem. That is the transferable core — swap the color picker for any deliberately small system and the five signals are identical.
