This Privacy Policy explains how maang.io ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use the maang.io website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect

We do not collect or store passwords — authentication is handled by your chosen identity provider. We do not store full payment card details ourselves; where payments are processed, they are handled by third-party payment processors.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and personalize the Service (e.g. tracking your course progress).
- Authenticate you and maintain your signed-in session.
- Send transactional emails such as verification and registration confirmations.
- Monitor, debug, and improve performance, reliability, and security (analytics & error reporting).
- Prevent abuse and enforce our Terms.
- Communicate about early access, launches, and changes to the Service.
3. Cookies & sessions
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the Service to function — in particular a secure, HTTP-only session cookie that keeps you signed in, and short-lived cookies used during the sign-in round-trip. We also use analytics to understand usage and diagnose errors. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service: with the service providers listed below, when required by law or to protect rights and safety, and in connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger or acquisition) subject to this Policy.
5. Service providers
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service. They process data on our behalf or as independent controllers for authentication:
- Identity providers (Google, Microsoft) — sign-in and your email/basic profile.
- Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting and storage of account, progress, and content data.
- Azure Application Insights — usage analytics, performance, and error diagnostics.
- Mailgun — delivery of transactional email.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy commitments.
6. Data retention
We keep account and progress data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and then for a reasonable period as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. Diagnostic/analytics data is retained for a limited period. You may request deletion of your account data as described below.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), secure HTTP-only session cookies, access controls, rate limiting, and a content security policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and respond promptly to issues.
8. Your rights & choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@maang.io. You can also stop using the Service and request that we delete your account data.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
We and our providers may process and store information in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
