What is this?

You've got the theory (Part 1), the consistency spectrum (Part 2), and the real systems (Part 3). Now we turn it into the thing that actually gets you the offer: the ability to reason out loud under pressure. CAP shows up in nearly every system-design interview, usually disguised — "what happens if this region goes down?" is a CAP question. The candidates who shine don't recite the theorem; they treat it as a lens and walk the interviewer through trade-offs with real numbers and concrete failure modes.

This part is a set of mock interviews. For each question you get three things: what they're really asking (the signal behind the words), a model answer (how to actually respond), and the senior line (the one sentence that makes a Staff interviewer lean in). The one-line idea: interviewers aren't testing whether you memorized "pick two of three" — they're testing whether you can take an unfamiliar system, locate it on the CP/AP spectrum, and reason about what breaks when the network does.
